A sports injury clinic is a specialised treatment facility focused on diagnosing, treating and rehabilitating injuries related to physical activity and sports. Here at Just One Body, our sports injury clinic provides bespoke, personalised care that addresses the unique requirements of sports-related injuries. The primary goal of our sports injury clinic is to facilitate quick and safe recovery, so that you can return to sporting activities you love with minimal risk of reinjury.
Sports injuries can vary in treatment approach, severity and symptoms, from acute injuries like sprains or fractures, to chronic issues, such as tendonitis or stress fractures.
Typically caused by overstretching or tearing of ligaments (sprains) or muscles and tendons (strains), these injuries can vary from minor to severe. Our clinicians offer comprehensive assessment and treatment plans to reduce swelling, restore function and reduce the chance of future strains and sprains.
Tendonitis, ACL tears and rotator cuff injuries are very common among athletes. Sports involving repetitive motions, such as tennis or basketball are the most common causes of tendon injuries. Our sports injury clinic will create a rehabilitation plan, including physical therapy, tailored to the injury type and the physical demands of the sport and individual.
Fractures such as stress fractures, occur due to repeated pressure or force on a bone, usually because of running or jumping, or participating in sports using improper form. There are 5 different stages to a bony injury. Proper assessment is crucial to finding the right rehabilitation plan to ensure a full recovery and reduce the risk of re-injury.
Overuse injuries are common among athletes who repeat specific movements such as runners and swimmers. This can cause tendon injuries, as well as conditions like tennis elbow, runner’s knee, and shin splints. These overuse injuries are managed with specially created therapies to address pain and inflammation while building resilience and strength in order to prevent reoccurrence.
At Just One Body, our sports injury clinic is designed to address the entire recovery process — from diagnosis to treatment to rehabilitation.
Our clinicians will use a variety of techniques and state-of-the-art equipment to accurately assess your individual circumstances and injury. Physicians evaluate the severity and type of your injury, identify underlying issues and draw up potential treatment options to craft a tailored, personalised recovery plan.
Pain management techniques such as heat therapy, cryotherapy and electrical stimulation can be used to reduce discomfort and inflammation in a targeted area, such as a point of discomfort or injury, allowing you to focus on rehabilitation and healing without being hindered by pain.
Our therapists provide guided exercises, manual therapy and techniques like stretching and strengthening to aid recovery. Our focus is on restoring your mobility, improving your strength and helping you to regain full functional capacity, no matter if you’re an avid athlete or an enthusiastic gym-goer.
Injury prevention is an essential part of sports injury treatment. By incorporating training programs that enhance strength, flexibility, balance and endurance, we can minimise your chances of injury, or help prevent further injury. This proactive approach can prepare athletes for their next level of performance.
Nutrition intake plays a large role in recovery and sports training. Our clinicians can provide dietary advice to support healing, manage weight and optimise your energy levels. Appropriate nutrition can accelerate muscle recovery and help athletes maintain fitness during recovery.
