Better Bone Health Programme
Supervised exercise for strength, balance and everyday confidence
A 24-week programme for people with osteoporosis, osteopenia or concerns about their bone strength. We start with you and build a plan for the activities that matter to you.

Exercise with a plan that fits you
The aim is to help you feel stronger and more capable when climbing stairs, walking, carrying shopping and doing the activities that matter to you.
- 1
We listen
Tell us what you want to do more easily. We review your starting ability, any DXA report, fracture history and advice from your GP.
- 2
We assess
We check strength, balance and movement. When useful, the FRAX fracture risk calculator helps estimate your chance of a fracture over the next 10 years. We use these results to choose exercises that suit your ability and health needs. If we find something that needs medical advice, we’ll ask you to speak with your GP before training.
- 3
We make a plan
We agree which exercises you’ll do and how hard to begin. Your trainer guides every session and adjusts the exercises as you improve or if something feels uncomfortable. Sessions are one-to-one or in a group of up to three.

What happens over 24 weeks?
Assess your starting point
We discuss your health and goals, review any bone scan results you have, and assess strength, balance and movement. This helps us decide if the programme is right for you.
Train with close supervision
Join two supervised sessions each week, one-to-one or in a group of no more than three. Your trainer teaches the exercises, adjusts them to you and increases the challenge as you are ready.
Review your progress
At weeks 12 and 24, we review strength, balance and the daily activities you want to improve. Together, we plan what to keep doing after the programme.

Is this programme for you?
If you have been told you have osteopenia or osteoporosis and are unsure how to exercise, this programme gives you a supervised place to start. It may also be suitable after a fracture from a minor fall or a higher FRAX result, once your GP has reviewed your situation.
You do not need gym experience. We check whether the programme is suitable before you join and start with exercises you can manage.
Your GP remains part of your care
Your GP handles diagnosis, investigations, medication and medical follow-up. Our team provides the assessed exercise programme alongside that care. With your consent, we can share relevant progress or concerns with your GP, and we will recommend a medical review if your assessment raises questions.
Keep following any treatment prescribed by your GP. Exercise supports bone health and everyday function; it does not replace medical assessment or osteoporosis medication.
